Quick Start Guide

Welcome to DayHero! This guide will help you get started with time tracking and leave management for your team in just a few minutes.

What you'll learn

How to set up your account, invite team members, and start tracking time in under 5 minutes.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Visit the registration page and sign up with your email address. You'll receive a confirmation email to verify your account.

  • Free for teams up to 3 users
  • No credit card required
  • Upgrade when you need more

Step 2: Set Up Your Organization

After logging in, you'll be prompted to create your organization. Enter your company name and configure basic settings like your holiday year start date (default: January 1st).

Step 3: Invite Your Team

Navigate to Employees and click Invite Employee. Enter their email address and they'll receive an invitation to join your organization.

Pro Tip

You can bulk import employees using CSV. Go to Employees → Import CSV and upload a file with columns: firstName, lastName, email.

Step 4: Start Tracking Time

Click on My Time in the navigation. You'll see a calendar view where you can:

  1. Click any date to add a time entry
  2. Select the time type (Working Time, Holiday, Sick, Maternity, Paternity, Time in Lieu, or Unpaid Time)
  3. Set start/end times for working time, or choose full/half day for leave
  4. Add optional notes
  5. Submit for approval (if required by the time type)
